I think that the HD actually starts out at about 24mb. I have only had this Lenovo desktop for about 2 weeks and was stunned to see so much space disappear for no apparent reason. Into the little black window type: VSSADMIN LIST SHADOWSTORAGE ----> for C: you will find 3 numbers ( used, allocated, maximum).

OK i have exactly the solution to document here for you all. I built my computer from the ground up with Windows XP Pro SP2, and nothing was wrong with it, at least not before I installed Vista.I have a Seagate sata 250GB If I clear more space, they will shrink the Macintosh HD to even less say 70GB if I delete 4GB worth of data. All the cleared space is added to the 'other' section in disk usage section (About this Mac).
It caused too much issues with the guest mode so I turned it off. Anyway, I'll try the tip and let you know. Thus, that 250GB hard drive actually has about 230GB of storage capacity, give or take a little. I assume that I'm not the only one out there with a Lenovo X60 Tablet with Vista...
